Ohhhhhhh we ate so, so, so, so much. It was ridiculous. I will give a brief run-down of each place and rate each restaurant out of 5 stars.
…
Hosteria Romana - “Where Italians go for Italian”. Enough said. This restaurant is loud, busy, and all sorts of amazing. The waiters run around screaming in Italian (and aren’t hard on the eyes either!!) It is probably one of our favorite restaurants due to the food alone. It is located on Espanola , where cars can’t drive, so there is lots to take-in (read: people watch). Sure, to some it may be a bit “touristy”- but the food makes up for it. Trust me. As do the GIANT mojitos.
FIVE STARS!
…
Jerry’s Deli-Your typical deli. With 20 times the options on the menu. To be honest, every time we go this place seems “blah” to me. It’s pretty hard to mess up a grilled cheese sandwich, but the one I got here left me wanting more. I supposed their extremely extensive menu limits them from focusing on perfecting, taste-wise, everything….but really? How hard is a grilled cheese.
2.5 STARS!

Asia De Cuba- Ever since my parents took me to the one in NYC yeaaaars ago (my dad gets cred for knowing about it from SATC and surprising me with that reservation), it has been a personal fave. This particular restaurant is located at the Mondrian in SoBe. That hotel/residence is a sight in-and-of-itself. The decoration is out of this world cool- it even has a real, life sized vending machine where you could buy simple black flats, or a stick of gum, or a ben and jerry’s ice cream supply for a year to a car or motorcycle (!!!!). You can see, it’s pretty out-there slash amazing. The food at asia de cuba never disappoints- the tastes and flavours of cuban x asian food is seamless and delicious,

Paul’s - We had breakfast Sunday morning at the Lincoln Road Mall location. Heavenly. Think fresh, warm baguettes, cappuccinos, croissants- everything was divine! I had the potato pancake topped with roasted tomatoes and goat cheese. I died. Then ordered the fresh baguette because I’m a carb-a-holic and couldn’t leave without sinking my teeth into one.
5 STARS!
…
Meat Market Miami- As we were strolling along Lincoln Road, we decided it was about dinner time and Meat Market was right there. Standard steak joint- nothing revolutionary- but nothing to scoff at either. Their steaks were perfectly cooked and an interesting assortment of sides complemented the steaks nicely.
4 STARS!
…
Joe’s Stone Crab- There isn’t much to say about this famous restaurant. I had never been before and it did not disappoint. I’m not even a crab person (deep fried calamari, shrimps and zucchini please) but the husb, FIL and GMIL (grandmother-in-law) were in heaven with those jumbo claws…and proceeded to discuss their amazingness for the rest of the evening.

Mr. Chows- What you would expect. Going to this restaurant is more about going into “the scene”. This was our second time going to the W SoBe location. We first went when it was more newly opened back at the end of August, beginning of September, and back then, the room was vibrant, loud, busy and full of energy. We had assumed that the recent opening of the restaurant contributed to that vibe and it would eventually die down. Nope. Upon our return, it is still very loud, busy and vibrant. The food is delicious, but be prepared to talk loudly in order to have yourself heard. Even still, as I said, it’s more about the scene than anything else.
4.5 STARS!!

Michael’s Genuine- This is one of the husb’s favorite places to go when we’re in MIA. They use super fresh ingredients, whatever looks good at the market that day, and as such, the menu changes daily. Such inspired food options and interesting combinations. This was our second time here and I can’t wait for our next visit. Located in the Design district, it’s location feels less SoBe and more cool, hip LA/NYC.
5 STARS!

Five Guys Burgers- Sometimes, the most satisfying thing can be a great burger. And let me tell you, this place does not disappoint. On Friday, we all had a hankering for a burger and fries so headed down to the restaurant. Let’s just say that between the 4 of us, no one spoke for a solid 10 minutes. When we all came up for air, we noticed each other’s plates were CLEARED. Gluttony for the win.

Ta-boo- We spend a Saturday up in Palm Beach walking and shopping along Worth Ave. and stopped into Ta-boo for lunch. I had been hearing about, from locals and non-locals, how this is the place to eat when you’re in the neighbourhood. It was alright. Nothing I’d write home about. I think it was probably over-hyped to me, so I was expecting something wondrous and sparkly and out of this world. Nope. Just a dimly lit restaurant that kinda felt like we were in a pub.
3 STARS!
…
11th Street Diner- This diner was a must visit. After seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, we couldn’t NOT go. There isn’t much to say about this place besides the fact that it did not disappoint. A greasy spoon restaurant is a greasy spoon restaurant- and when done right, maaaaan oh man is it good.

There you have it! A somewhat-brief run-down of the vacation’s meal selections. Please excuse my lack of pictures- I’m still working on remembering to bring my camera when I go places!
